At Brookline Teen Outreach, we believe that strong relationships between adults and youth are the foundation for a thriving community. That’s why we’re proud to launch Bridge Builders: Strengthening Youth-Adult Connections—a free community education series designed to equip adults with the tools to better connect with and support the young people in their lives.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, coach, caregiver, or simply someone who cares about our community’s youth, this series is for you. Each session offers practical strategies grounded in empathy, communication, and positive behavior support. You’ll leave feeling more confident and capable of building meaningful, respectful relationships with teens and pre-teens.

💬 Connective Conversation Session

Wednesday, May 21 | 6:00–8:00 PM
Learn how to open the door to trust and connection. This session focuses on engaging youth in honest, meaningful conversations—even around difficult topics. You’ll gain tools to foster open communication and deepen your connection with the young people in your life.


💡 Positive Approaches to Challenging Behavior

Saturday, May 31 | 12:30–2:30 PM
Challenging behavior is often a sign of unmet needs. In this workshop, we’ll help you understand what’s behind difficult behavior and how to respond with structure, empathy, and positive reinforcement. Reduce power struggles and build cooperation through compassion-based strategies.


🧯 De-Escalation Training

Wednesday, June 4 | 6:00–8:00 PM
When things get heated, staying calm is key. This hands-on training will teach you how to de-escalate intense situations while keeping both you and the young person emotionally safe. Learn how to recognize warning signs, stay grounded, and preserve relationships in moments of crisis.


🤝 Positive Conflict Management Techniques

Saturday, June 14 | 12:30–2:30 PM
Conflict is a chance to grow. This session will help you teach youth how to handle disagreements in healthy, constructive ways. Discover how to model respectful communication, set clear boundaries, and guide young people through resolving conflicts productively.
